BJP gains, Congress suffers losses in by-polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party gained three Assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat in the recent by-elections, results of which were announced on Friday.It was a major loss for the Congress as it lost one Assembly seat each in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Nagaland, besides the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat in Andhra Pradesh.Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy (son of the former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy) and his mother Y.S. Vijayamma won respectively from the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh for the YSR Congress Party. They had vacated the seats after resigning from the Congress and forming their own party.

PAC Chairman Murli submits his controversial report on 2 G scam to LS Speaker

NCT, April 30:Public Accounts Committee Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi today submitted the controversial report on 2 G scam to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar despite the rejection of the draft report by majority members. Today is the last day of his term as head of the Committee.Joshi said, the Speaker should accept report on 2G and table in Parliament. He said he has not given clean chit to anybody. He also claimed that the rejection of report by 11 PAC members is unconstitutional.
