Union minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Ajay Makan has said that the National Sports Development Bill will be tabled in the Monsoon session of Parliament. The objective of this bill is to bring transparency in sports related matters in the country.
Talking to reporters in Gwalior on Wednesday, he said that suggestions have been invited on the Bill and the draft of the bill will be finalized in the first fortnight of May.
Mr. Maakan informed that this bill will fix the criteria regarding age and tenure of the sports associations. It will also have rules and regulations about doping cases and sexual harassment of women players. This bill will also have a provision for 25 percent voting rights of players in the elections of sports organizations.
