Foreign Secretary level talks between India and Bangladesh began in Dhaka on Tuesday, issues related to cooperation in counter terrorism, sharing of waters, transit facilities are high on agenda.Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao is leading the Indian delegation while Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes is leading his country's side.
The discussion between the two sides will focus on the preparation of the agenda of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's proposed visit to Dhaka in addition to reviewing the status of implementation of the agreements reached during Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India last year.
Issues related to cooperation in counter terrorism, sharing of waters of Teesta and Seni Rivers, resolution of issues related to boundary matters, bilateral trade, power sector cooperation and transit facilities to be provided by Bangladesh are likely to dominate the agenda of discussions.
