India reacted strongly to Pakistan terming New Delhi's demand for action against all those responsible in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks as outdated

India reacted strongly to Pakistan terming New Delhi's demand for action against all those responsible in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks as outdated . Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said the word outdated cannot apply as the country is consistent about the issue and Pakistan knows this. Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir had described as "outdated" India's demand for action against the perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai attacks in the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. In a message posted in Twitter, Mrs. Rao  said  at the same time, there is no denying the need for sober and reasoned dialogue between  India and Pakistan on all issues that complicate relations.

Former diplomat G. Pathasarathi opines that Pakistan is again trying to play the anti-India card to divert world's attention."The comments of Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir that Indian demands that they should take action against the perpetrators of 26/11, the terrorists, the ISI, is quite unacceptable.  The people of India demand that the perpetrators of 26/11 should be brought to justice and the Pakistani strategy is to focus on other issues and not talk about terrorism.  And I am afraid India also should be very careful not to allow Pakistan to do this.  As far as we are concern, the most serious pending issue is bringing the perpetrators of 26/11 to justice".

Earlier, India  questioned Pakistan's contention that dreaded underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is not in that country.  Home Secretary G K Pillai  took on the Pakistan interior minister Rehman Malik saying if Dawood Ibrahim is not in Pakistan, Mr Malik should say where he is."If the Minister is so sure that he is not in Pakistan, he should know very well where he is?  Because he has been a reisdent in Pakistan, he has houses in Karachi and Islamabad.  So, we would welcome any further information about Dawood Ibrahim's  whereabouts.  According to us he is still in Pakistan".
